At Sturges Educational Consulting we hold true to our tag line “The best education is the one that best fits the child!” Considering an independent school versus the local public school empowers families to focus on school fit. Our “fit” focus encourages families to center their school search on the relevant factors that are pertinent to their child’s academic strengths, learning style, and extracurricular preferences.

About Sturges Educational Consulting
As a life-long educator and long-time member of a Metropolitan DC’s independent school admission team, Wendy Sturges has worked with thousands of families as they sought to find the best school “fit” for their child(ren) and family. Her favorite part of the job was always the connections she was able to make with the prospective families she got to know. She now brings that joy directly to the individual families she works with. Her focus is on identifying the right “fit” for both the child and the family.
With an undergraduate degree in education from American University, Wendy recently returned to American University to earn her Masters of Education in Educational Policy and Leadership. This study gave her special insight into the design of curriculum, school policies and reform. These credentials increased her desire to guide families as they pursue the best educational fit for their child(ren). In conjunction with this strong academic background, as a mom, she had her own personal independent school journey as she navigated the process to find the right fit for each of three children who are now young adults.
Wendy is a long-time endurance athlete with multiple marathons and Ironman races under her belt. She can often be found out running with her Labrador and a smile on her face. This is the smile families will get to know as they work side by side with Wendy to find the right school “fit” for their child(ren) and their family.
